Jacob, Host at Logistics Degree:
Question: What would you say are the highest paying fields to work in? Possibly highest paying types of places to work in the world of supply chain management?

Alexander, Supply Chain & Procurement:
Answer: From my knowledge, I have seen the highest salaries, especially from all my peers and colleagues. Definitely medical device industry, biotech, for sure. Biotech I would even say consulting has a very high salary too, because of their constant kind of changing and product Jackson. And so many different clients. And then oil and gas and sustainability projects that green industry, pretty much any company, in my opinion, that has that innovation mindset where they’re constantly wanting to create different products rather than trying to create the same products, but more cost effective. Because you can only do that so much.

Corben, Supply Chain Manager:
Answer: You would certainly receive better benefits packages at a larger company. So there’s certainly those perks. If you work for yourself, I think you can make a lot, but it’s volatile, it’s risky. And so if you want the safety and security with the nice health and dental and vision insurance and all those sort of things, then a bigger company, the bigger the better. Typically they pay better. If you’re willing to move, that’s even better. There’s typically a great need for supply chain people in certain cities, whereas other cities, not so much. So do your research. If you’re willing to move, you could really chase those great opportunities.

Haley, Logistics Project Manager:
Answer: I would just say the way the world is moving is towards technology. So any kind of technological role, even if it is very supply chain focused, is going to be paying the highest. One thing I pointed out earlier was data analytics. That’s a huge thing right now, like having the skill set to not only read data and interpret it, but also create data visualizations and help companies make strategic decisions based on data is really big and it’s very common in supply chain making processes better always requires data. So I would say any of these big tech companies are always going to have opportunities there. And then, of course, there’s always the industries that people depend on, like automotive industries and airline industry. Those are all some great ones because they’re always going to be around and we’re always so dependent on them.

William, Director of Operations:
Answer: Difficult supply chains. So manufacturing, especially automotive, CPG, so you know, your food companies a lot more than like a service company, you know, like an ATP or something. So when you have a lot of moving parts, it’s the more. And then when you get into regulation like chemical companies specifically or environmental companies, you’re going to get paid a lot more because there’s a lot more knowledge.

Nathan, Logistician:
Answer: That means that you need to have. The two highest compensated groups are industrial engineers and global supply managers. Those are the people that are doing heavy math, heavy statistics, and the ones negotiating contracts with suppliers and are very much tied to cost saving.
